About Us - Government Polytechnic Institute

Our History

Established in 1999 as a Government Vocational Institute, our institute has grown and evolved to meet the educational and technical needs of the people of District Mohamed. Over the decades, we have emerged as a trusted institution for staff development and technical education, shaping future and fostering innovation.

In 2004, we advanced to become the Government Technical Institute, introducing a 3-year Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAS) program in Telecommunication.

By 2017, we further expanded into the Government Polytechnic Institute, offering additional diplomas in Mining, Electrical, and Civil technologies. Complementing our DAS programs, a one-year Diploma in Information Technology (DT) became part of our curriculum.
